I am so pleased to hear about positive responses to the Arabic translation of Memories of Eden. My father lived in Baghdad from 1936-39 where served as headmaster of the Shamash school for boys. I grew up on beautiful stories of a semi-idyllic comfortable life of Jews who retained some of their magnificent heritage of Torah and spiritual wealth while also affluent sophisticated participants in a cosmopolitan city. The stories I heard were of a place where harmony flourished between all faiths and ethnicities before WW2
