Thanks for the wonderful journey

Dear Mira & Tony

Below are links to a review in Arabic of your valuable book along with other memoirs of Iraqi Jews I had read, published recently in an Iraqi newspaper. I thought I should keep you posted though I’m almost certain neither of you can understand, much less read Arabic! Thank you and thanks to Violette for the wonderful journey.

Archive help please

My name is Sasha Goldstein-Sabbah, and I am a PhD candidate at Leiden University in the Netherlands.  My dissertation research focuses on the identity constructions of the Jews in Iraq during the British Mandate.  I have obviously read your book with great interest.  In fact, I have even assigned it to some of my students as one example of the Iraqi Jewish experience during the Mandate.

I am writing to you to enquire whether you have letter, private journals, and other written material from your family dating from this period?  And if so, I could possibly have access to it for my research?

If you have any further questions about my research please don’t hesitate to ask.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Sasha R. Goldstein-Sabbah
